Course syllabus(.PDF File). {Follow this link for html format syllabus}
- TEXT: We will have 3 textbooks this semester, both will be available
at the University Bookstore. (before you purchase it, you might wish to check online resources such as Amazon.com)
-
Tim Claridge, High-Resolution NMR Techniques in Organic Chemistry, Volume 2,. Elsevier (2009). (this is Volume 27 of the Tetrahedron Organic Chemistry Series).
-
Silverstein, et.al, Spectrometric Identification of Organic Compounds, 7th Edition, Wiley (2005).
- Third Text, strongly recommended (this book came out after the Coursebook Adoption deadline, or it would have been one of the required texts).:
- Jeffrey H. Simpson, Organic Structure Determination Using 2-D NMR Spectroscopy, a problem-based approach, Elsevier, (2008). This is an excellent collection of organic structure problems. You are strongly encouraged to acquire and use this text for practice in solving structures using 2D-NMR.
